Is Online Shopping Safe?
Many people are afraid to shop online, I get that with all the horror stories we have heard over the years; however, with all the technology advances and the need for secure transactions, the online world has come a long way and is just as secure as buying your groceries at the local supermarket.
In this day and age, people are shopping, paying bills and doing business online every day. Are those people taking a risk? Not anymore than anyone else when paying for goods at stores, doctor offices, restaurants, or anytime you swipe that card to do business whether in person or online.
My number one tip for shopping online or even in person at your local Wal-Mart, is checking your bank account and credit card bills regularly to make sure all purchases have been made by you. If not call the bank or credit card company and let them know there is a dispute, generally they will look into it and make it right.
Do you know how to keep your personal information safe while shopping online, take a look at some of the tips offered by Stay Safe Online powered by National Cyber Security
Read the Return Policy – Is the return policy clearly stated and do they make returns easy to make? This is the question to ask yourself when buying online. Many online companies realize that if it is a hassle to return things and people will not shop with them, so they are making it easier and even offering guarantees to make returns easier and more convenient for the online shopper.
Payment Options – Using credit cards or your bank cards is your safest and most secure way to shop online. I know, it might be scary to put your credit or bank card information out there; however, the credit card companies and banks are aware of problems that you might encounter and are ready and willing to help you if the transaction goes south, all you normally need to do is give them a call.
When you enter your card information the only one that ever sees your information is the secure processor, not the company you are doing business with, just like when you scan that card at the grocery store.
One of my favorite options is PayPal, normally you have the option to use your credit or bank card and they offer a resolution option anytime you pay through them as an added safety for the consumer.
Ok, we have determined that shopping online is safe and what to watch out for so let’s look at what is trending for dogs this holiday season.
WHAT IS TRENDING THIS SEASON FOR DOGS?
Trying to keep tabs on your dog and want to know where they are at all times? Maybe you have a dog walker and want to know exactly when your dog is going for their walk or for safety purposes, in case they get lost, these GPS trackers can help you know exactly where your dog is at all times, there are even some trackers that can tell you how active your dog was today.
And don’t forget all the new apps coming out on our smartphones to meet new people who love dogs as much as we do, from dating sites to finding the best dog park.
Healthy Foods and Treats – What are you feeding your dog? Have you been trying to stay healthy and understand that what your dog eats, plays a huge factor in your dog’s health? People are turning to feed all-natural raw diets, cooked human grade diets, and even diets without grains to keep our furry friends healthy. Many of these dog foods come with a moderate to a hefty price and the companies are offering a solution called BTC or Business to Consumer where these foods are auto shipped directly to your home on a regular basis. This is something we have been doing here at The Wood Hound for a while and love the convenience.
Natural Approach to Health – Looking not only for healthier foods to feed our dogs but we are also looking for alternative more natural health care in forms of preventatives and keeping our dog healthy to have a better quality of life and hopes for living longer. These may involve things such as acupuncture, massage, and various types of supplements formulated just for our furry friend.
Toys – Don’t forget the most important things for Christmas this year, is an abundance off toys. Many companies offer great chew toys like Kong that helps that chewing urge and for great exercise, the chuckit brand is great for a game of fetch.
