Stay Home Dog Mom
Has your fur baby ever looked at you as to say, Stay Home Dog Mom. I know my fur babies give me those eyes every morning when I am trying to get ready for work. Many of us try to work this out the best that we can by coming home at lunch or hiring a dog walker to take care of the fur babies while we are away. The best solution to be a dedicated dog mom would be to stay at home.
Basset Hound Eyes
Oh those basset hound eyes, please don’t leave me mom, please stay home! I feel so guilty having to go to work and leave them alone. If you have ever been confronted by a basset hound you will understand this very well. Many days I have looked at them and said, “I would love to stay home with you, but I have to make money so you can have food and treats.” They don’t seem to understand that concept.
Late from Lunch Again?
If everyone is like me they only get an hour for lunch and it makes it really hard to go home, let the fur babies out and get back to work on time, unfortunately for many people this is our only option. I have run home on lunch many days, let the fur babies out and ended up being late from lunch, and if your supervisor does not understand the importance, it can cause issues at work.
Dog Walker – Not For Me
Another option is hiring a dog walker. Not only can a dog walker cost a lot of money, especially with six dogs, but if you don’t hire the correct one it can be a nightmare. I have heard horror stories where the dogs got off their leash and the dog walker just leaves the fur babies to run, with six dogs I cannot take that chance. I am lucky that my sister-in-law lives right around the corner and she is willing to spend time with the dogs while I am at work.
Mischievous Fur Babies
The next option is leaving the fur babies at home alone all day while we work. I know this works for some people but my dogs like to get into mischief when I am gone. I have tried this before and come home to many messes, the furniture in shreds, and a poor fur baby that is about to blow up due to having to go to the bathroom or already made a mess on the floor.
Living my Dream Of A Stay At Home Dog Mom
I know I don’t want to be that dog mom that has to face those eyes each morning before going to work everyday, running late from lunch, dealing with a dog walker that let my fur baby run loose, or coming home to mischievous pups. My goal in life is to be a stay at home dog mom. I am working to be able to live my dream and I know the best option is to be able to stay at home with my fur babies!
Like many of you, the only way I can stay at home to take care of the fur babies, is to be able to work from home and have a lucrative income, as most households take both people working to live comfortably. I know many of you out there would love that opportunity as well, so I will fill you in on how I plan to become a stay at home dog mom and have fun doing it.
I want you to know, first and foremost, I have created this web site to create a community for basset hound and treeing walker coonhound owners, or anyone that loves the breed, to come together to enjoy all our fur babies out there. I plan to keep updating this site with new information on our fur babies regularly, so you don’t get board with my site, that is the fun part.
Now getting to the part of making money, I have found a way through affiliate programs, of my choosing, to help fund my dream of a stay at home dog mom. How the making money part happens is, each time one of you click on one of my links for a product or service on this site, that I have thoroughly researched or use myself, I make a small commission with no additional cost to you; however, please know, I never expect you to buy something you do not want or need. If you do make a purchase through our community, I appreciate the support, and if nothing else the small commission that I make will help me with the costs of keeping this website and community going for you, as I love to help people and love those hound dogs.
I feel that as this site and community grows it will afford me to become that stay at home dog mom and live that dream. In order to help me grow this website and community, please share with all your friends who love their hounds, or anyone that just loves the breed. I want to make this the best community for you, and I have big plans for this website as you will see in the future. I want to thank you in advance for all the support you give me now and through the years to come.

I know those eyes very well. While my fur friend was alive, she gave me those eyes very often. When I am at home, and am on my computer for too long, she would pace near my work table. Occasionally, she would look up with those eyes. After a while, after realizing that I would be stuck at my computer for hours, she gave up, and she would heave a huge sigh (no kidding, she really did!), and then curl up near me. haha
The best part about going to work is that when we return home, they give us the warmest welcome ever! And that smile. Precious! 🙂
Hi Tim, thanks for leaving a comment. Dogs really are social animals and do enjoy being close to their humans. I know many times when I am working at home I end up with a lap dog after a while, I have ignored them enough. I do try to spend a lot of time playing with the hounds when I am home as I feel so guilty having to go to work and leave them at home.
It is nice to come home and yes there is always a warm welcome. I know with mine when I get home it is like I have been gone for days and they are always so happy I am home.
Oh those “hound dog eyes” can be something for sure! Even though my little Lola is not a hound, she has big brown eyes that she can make look pitiful when she wants to. Every morning as I am getting ready for work, she will sit and watch me with those sad, sad eyes. When I get my purse and start heading for the door, I’ll say, “Well, I’ve got to go to work but I promise I’ll be home later.” Before I can get the whole sentence out, Lola runs to the bedroom window and hides behind the curtains! I feel awful and I so hate to leave. I know exactly what you are going through as I’m going through the same thing. I sure hope we can be full-time dog moms very, very soon!
Hi Brenda, thanks for the comment and sharing your story of little Lola. Those sad eyes as we leave can really make dog parents feel guilty about leaving to go to work. I hate that Lola runs and hides in the curtains, I can relate to not wanting to leave and feeling awful as I go through that every morning as well. Mine just set and look at me with those hound dog eyes, like to say, “are you going to leave us again”. It really is hard to leave them and that is exactly why I have built this website through Wealthy Affiliate and you can too so we will be able to work from home and not have to face those hound dog eyes each morning when we leave.
I am rooting for you for your dream to come true, I know how your fur babies would love to have you home everyday with them.
Never give up your dreams,
Jeff

I have 2 dogs and 2 birds. I know those looks, whines, and needs. Mine are so silly if I go outside for more than 5 minutes and come back in they greet me like I have been gone for a week. Those are just reminders of how much they love us and need us. I am glad that you are a stay at home dog mom. Finding that ability is a blessing to you and your fur babies. I look forward to checking out your link and learning more about.
Thanks for dropping by my site and leaving a comment. I really enjoy hearing from the community here at thewoodhound.com.
Our furry friends are only put on this world for a short time and what is only eight hours of work to us can seem like an eternity to them. Our dogs depend on us to meet their needs and I am sure they worry when we are gone.
I am not actually home full time with them yet; however, getting closer everyday since finding a way to make money online and work from home. Please do click on the link above and find out the opportunity to be a stay at home dog mom like me.
Remember to bookmark this site as I am always updating it and plan to make it a great hound community, while staying home with my dog crew.
I used to have 6 dogs and 2 cats. Although, they were not all hounds. I can certainly relate to wanting to be there for them.
I now have one Tripod Beagle and 3 cats. They too keep me busy. I do not want to leave them for trips or work. I only leave for short periods and they are on a schedule.
I am retired now so I can be at home most of the time to care for all my fur babies. I don’t think I could go back to a day job!
Thanks for stopping by my site and leaving a comment.
My bunch is always into something and I just love when I can be home with them. At the moment I have an awesome sister-in-law that goes to my house and spends time with them while I am at work, which helps so much. I just hate to have to rely on her all the time.
I know all about not leaving them too long, so I don’t travel much either. If you do decide to travel you might want to check out my post https://thewoodhound.com/how-to-travel-with-a-dog-considering-all-travel-options-and-accomodations
Thanks again for stopping by and please make sure you book mark my site as I update it regularly and offer all kinds of different information on hound dogs.
Dena, I sure know what dog mischief is all about.
When my dad remarried, we inherited a couple of brothers and a sister. One brother had a Doberman and Alsatian.
One night his wife and him went out to dinner. Unbeknownst to them the door between the house and garage hadn’t shut properly. In the garage was the fancy car; a Merc I believe. The window was open. Inside was a case of beer.
On returning to home and into the garage they found; a torn up car interior, a case of empty cans and two quite inebriated dogs. Last time that door was left open. An auto shutter was installed.
Grumpy dogs the next day.
Wow! I am sure that would be an experience, not something that has happened to me. Dogs with hangovers definitely not a good thing, hope they were OK.
We were in the kitchen one day fixing dinner and the next thing I knew my husband walks out of the bedroom with a look on his face, I go in there to find his pillow in shreds, it looked as though it snowed all over the bed. You just never know what they will pick to get into next.
